Y’all, I spent the better part of a day writing and rewriting the post for this week, and I just can’t get my thoughts right. I don’t want to put out something I’m not proud of so I just had to call it a day and I’ll try again tomorrow — who knows, you might get a mid-week update.
But the most important part of this newsletter is this section right here, so grab your notebook and spend the next 20 minutes laying the groundwork for having your best week ever.
🦋 Following the "Best Week Basics" is essential to having your best week ever. Use this time to really plan for the week ahead and think about what needs to happen for you to feel like you had a productive, fulfilling week.

💃 This week’s reading by Danielle
Week of August 5, 2024: Eight of Swords

Swords is the suit of logic, intellect, communication, conflict, analysis, and matters of the mind.
Our card this week, “The Eight of Swords” brings with it feelings of restriction, negative thoughts, and the feeling of being trapped in a situation.
While this card may look dark at first, make sure to note that while this lady is bound, she is no victim. She can get herself out of this predicament if need be.
The Eight of Swords can point to feeling trapped in a situation. This can be an unfilling job, a mound of debt, unwanted commitments, or an unhealthy relationship. Whatever the situation may be, in this moment, you may feel defeated and backed into a corner.
At times you may think there is no way out. This card can even suggest that you may feel victimized because of the weight of this predicament. If this resonates with you, it is important to realize that the card sends the message that you have everything you need to get yourself out of this mess.
While big life decisions such as changing careers or moving away from a negative relationship can be hard, it's not impossible. Mounding debt or unwanted commitments can weigh us down and cause us to feel stuck. Just remember, while the light at the end of the tunnel may look bleak, it is still there. Start small. Make little changes, Whatever you do, be self aware going forward during each decision.
The Eight of Swords can also suggest that you have been having negative thoughts that no longer serve you. You might be overthinking a situation. This can lead you to running in circles instead of coming up with a clear plan. You may be confused about a decision. You aren’t sure what path to take or choice to make. If this resonates with you, just know that we all get frustrated when the right answer isn’t in front of us.
You are not alone. The card is asking you to get out of your head. While Swords are typically a suit of logic, this card wants you to turn to your intuition and inner guidance for answers.
Finally, the Eight of Swords assures you there is a way out of whatever it is that you feel is weighing down, holding you back, or causing you to feel defeated. The message to take away is that you already have what it takes to change your situation.
🌙 The New Moon on the 5th brings with it new beginnings and a fresh start. Time to reset! It is also the perfect time to manifest and set new intentions. The waxing crescent phase is your chance to grow your intentions!
